Managing Menopause Naturally: My Journey with Self-Reiki

Menopause is a journey, one filled with ups and downs, and for me, one of the biggest challenges has been managing hot flushes. Some days, I feel balanced, while others, I feel like I'm overheating from the inside out! Instead of opting for hormone replacement therapy (HRT), I made the decision to manage my symptoms naturally - with Self-Reiki.

Why I Chose Self-Reiki Over HRT

Every woman’s menopause experience is unique, and I respect every choice made to navigate this phase. For me, the decision to forgo HRT came from a deep desire to work with my body rather than against it. I wanted to explore natural healing methods, allowing my body to transition in a way that felt aligned with my beliefs and energy.

How Reiki Helps Me Manage Hot Flushes

Reiki is a powerful healing practice that works with the body’s energy flow. When I feel the heat rising, I use self-Reiki to:

  • Soothe My Nervous System – Stress and anxiety can intensify hot flushes, so I focus on calming my energy, bringing deep relaxation to my body.

  • Cool My Energy – By placing my hands over my heart and solar plexus, I channel Reiki’s cooling energy to balance my internal heat.

  • Ground Myself Emotionally – Menopause can feel like an emotional rollercoaster, and Reiki helps me stay present and connected to myself.

  • Improve Sleep – Hot flushes can disrupt sleep, but practicing Reiki before bed helps me rest more peacefully.

My Daily Self-Reiki Routine

I incorporate Reiki into my daily life in simple ways:

  1. Morning Reiki Practice – I begin my day by placing my hands on my heart and setting the intention for balance and ease.

  2. Cooling Hand Placements – Whenever a hot flush strikes, I focus Reiki energy on my head, neck, and chest to encourage a cooling sensation.

  3. Evening Wind-Down – Before bed, I do a full-body Reiki session to relax my mind and body for restful sleep.
